A happy new year and new month to you my beloved reader! Are you wondering if I’m late? Well, no I’m not. I am right on time as it was all part of the plan. Anyway, before I go further, I want to say a very big thank you to all of you — my readers — who have been on this journey with me since I started my blog and all throughout the previous year. You rock guys! Seriously, you do. Let’s do it again, another year of awesomeness.
Now, for today’s post…

This is really special to me because since the first day of February I’ve been thinking about what to write for you all, what to say to all of you. I thought and thought and thought about it, I also asked God for inspiration. Should I publish a poem first or a story, what should I publish first? LOL. Yes, I asked all of that because this year it is really important and would mean a lot if at least one of my readers is blessed by my writing.
Okay. Okay. Stay with me, I promise not to get all mushy and stuff.
I had set the date for a new blogpost to go out for today whether I liked it or not and as at yesterday evening, I still did not have any bearings for what to write. And here’s where it gets interesting. In the same evening about 11:30/11:40pm thereabout I was studying the book of Acts, and the way God expounded just one verse and taught me, I was mind blown and I realized my notes from the study was exactly what I should publish today.
Let’s get into it.
A little backstory before this verse: Jesus had already been crucified, had resurrected and ascended into heaven. However before ascending, he promised his disciples he will send them the Holy Spirit and that they should chill for the Holy Spirit to come. The disciples were chilling for the promise and one morning they were gathered in a room then the Holy Spirit that was promised came.
Acts 2:4
“And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.”
Acts of the Apostles 2:4 NLT
The Holy Spirit came and when he did, they received the gift/ability to speak in other tongues.
When you receive they Holy Spirit, he comes bearing gifts for you. Never comes empty handed.
It also shows the giving nature of God. God gives. He gave us Jesus, Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit gives us gifts.
Notable is the fact that when Jesus was leaving he gave us the One who would never leave us and who gives us gifts. The Holy Spirit in us always gives.
God=Jesus=Holy Spirit
God gives.
Jesus gives.
Holy Spirit gives.
The nature of God is giving and God is love so love gives. Therefore we can say that there is love in giving. See John 3:16, “For God so loved… that he gave… .”
When we give to God we should do it in love because love is giving and doing so (with that understanding) giving becomes easier. That way giving becomes less of a chore and a command and more of showing/extending love.
The same thing also applies to us as humans and as children of God. Since we have God’s nature in us, we are givers like our Father because we extend love to others by giving.
It is February, the month of love and I think it’s just perfect timing that this is what I have for you all. So, if I may be bold, I’d like to challenge each person that reads this to give. You could give of your time, your knowledge, your resources, anything, the most important thing is to love as you give. You could also give by sharing this post with anyone whom you would like to show a different angle on giving.
I hope you were blessed by this and you also enjoyed reading this! If you would like to see more posts like this do let me know. Thank you 😊!
P.S: Don’t forget to like, leave a comment and share!
P.P.S: February 14th is approaching… be my Valentine? 🥺
